What we collect
- Account info — name, email, and password (stored only as a secure hash).
- Student profile — first name, grade or year, and for self-enrolled college students, optional details like school, major, and date of birth (used to confirm age and personalize coaching).
- Conversations — the messages, questions, and any homework images a student shares with the mentor.
- Usage — basic activity such as sessions and streaks, used to power progress reports.
- Payment — handled by Stripe. We receive a customer reference and status, never full card numbers.
How we use it
To provide and improve the mentor, personalize coaching to the student's level, generate weekly parent reports, keep accounts secure, and process billing. Conversations may be automatically reviewed for signs of distress so a parent or account owner can be alerted to anything concerning.
What we don't do
We do not sell student data, and we do not show third-party advertising. Student conversations are used to operate the service for that student — not traded or rented to anyone.
Service providers we share with
We share the minimum necessary with vendors that help run Ntrino: an AI provider that generates mentor responses, Stripe for payments, a voice provider for speech features, and an email provider for reports. They are permitted to use the data only to provide their service to us.
Children's privacy
Accounts for children are created and managed by a parent or guardian, who can review and request deletion of their child's information. We collect only what is needed to provide the service. Self enrollment is limited to adults 18 and older.
Security
We use industry-standard measures — encryption in transit, hashed passwords, and encrypted storage of sensitive settings. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information.
Retention
We keep data for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the service. You can ask us to delete your account and associated data, subject to legal record-keeping requirements.
Your choices
You can access or update your information from your account, and email us to request a copy or deletion of your data.
